Red cabbage recipe (This is what my grandma used to make)
- Apples
- Cinnamon
- honey or brown sugar
- Potatoes
- Milk
- butter
- nutmeg
- pepper
- sour cream (optional)
- Some cheese

- Cut and boil the red cabbage. Boil it real well until tender and then drain it.
- Blend the red cabbage, you can either do it with a blender, or with a hand mixer.

- Make apple sauce. To make apple sauce, I peel, core, cut the apples, then cover the bottom of the pan lightly with water, and let it simmer on low for a couple hours.

Then, add honey or brown sugar,  and cinnamon to taste.

- Make mashed potatoes. Boil spuds, drain, add milk, a little pepper and nutmeg, some butter, you know the drill. Optionally, you can add some sour cream to your mashed potatoes.

Finally: Mix it all.
One part cabbage
One part apple sauce
Two parts mashed potatoes.

Put it in an oven dish and sprinkle grated cheese on top, any cheese will do.

Serve. It's best with sausage or meatloaf.
