How interesting. I do have denture tablets in the house, but no clogged drains :)

On totally frugal forums with Page 4 I learned so much about vinegar.  Although I don't agree with the "Unclogging Drains" one because vinegar and baking soda actually combined, fizz up and make salt.  I have tried this method several times but it has never worked.  But, I learned that denture tablets will unclog a drain everywhere there is a drain if you crush them up send them down the drain and chase it with boiling water.  It is a good preventive maintenance tip.  It wont work in your toilet though!Image

Hint: When you have cuts in your fingers, use gloves when handling vinegar. I had to find out the hard way that I had some cuts. This time of year (wintertime) the skin on my fingers likes to split.

Add some vinegar to water and rinse the oven after cleaning it. It will eliminate the bad smell you get after a freshly cleaned oven.
You can also use vinegar to clean the trash cans and get rid of the smell.

There are soooo many things you can do with vinegar. What do you all use vinegar for?
I'll start with a few things I use vinegar for.

- Clean residue in pans from hard water. This one is truly amazing. First time I tried it, I couldn't believe my eyes. I just put straight vinegar in a pan and let it sit overnight. The next morning, it looks like new.

- Remove candle wax. It comes off so easily with vinegar.

- Unclog drains. Use some vinegar and baking soda.

- Clean glassware.

- Trap fruitflies. This really works great, and is very necessary here during apple picking season. I use apple cider vinegar for that.

- De-ice your car windows. Put a mixture of water and vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on your iced car windshields, the ice will come right off and the windshields will be real clean.
