I had a long distance relationship many years before the internet came to be, that was even more difficult than nowadays.
Now you can use zoom, wechat, skype, slack, oh there are many ways to talk and see each other.
Back then, we'd write letters that took 2 weeks to arrive, and we'd call on special occasions, but it was very expensive.

I think the biggest problem with long distance relationships, is the culture difference when each is from a different country.
