Not that long ago, I was shopping at a wholesale club. I didn't have a membership but the friend I was shopping with had one.
The person who went to the cashier ahead of us didn't have a membership and didn't know she needed one.
Since the conversation got pretty loud, I couldn't help overhearing it.
So without a membership, she was asked to buy a one time $16 card. She refused. She had a cart overflowing with groceries. The cashier had to call someone to go put everything back on the shelves.

I believe we only have one in the area.
Is it cheaper than walmart? Most certainly not. I looked at their prices on line, and I looked at walmart's prices on line.
BIG difference!
Plus, at the wholesale club here, you have to have a membership which is $40 a year. 
So in addition to paying more than at Walmart or Aldo, you also have to pay for your membership.

After considering the option and researching it carefully, I decided it's definitely not worth it.
