I have so many "Fat Quarters" from sewing, who needs anything but a hanky?

That's exactly the problem with paper tissues. I don't know if they would ever hold up if I'd blow my nose. I think I'm a nose blowing champion!

Hankies are so easy to wash and quick to dry even if you don't have a dryer.
Also, hankies are usually cotton so they last a long time, you can wash them over and over without any problems and without wearing them out any time soon.

I always use real hankies. The paper ones are like toilet paper, if you don't pay enough for them your fingers will go right through them.

The same goes for paper towels. I have never used them.
Keep old clothes and use them as rags, especially to clean up dirty things. They can be washed and reused later.

My husband has a large stack of rags from old clothes that he uses as rags in his work shop.
I keep some underneath the sink in the kitchen and they often come in handy.

You can also use old rags as washcloths (depending on the material they are made out of; I'd not use cotton for that).

I've never bought any tissues in my entire life. A hanky will do just fine to blow my nose.
I've been using the same hankies for years, they are cotton, and strong. Not much can go wrong with them.
After use, they go in the washer. I don't bother ironing them :)

Here are some stats:

- The average person buys 231 boxes of tissues in a lifetime. This seems low if you consider the next statistic:
- In 2020, apparently 8.27 million Americans used at least 8 boxes of tissues.

So on average, $35 a year was spent on tissues in a year.
I spend that amount on hankies in 30 years.
