There are a few other things that help to spend less.

- Use a list and stick to it.
- See if anything is on sale, but only buy it if you need it.
- Go grocery shopping less frequently.
For example, I buy a bag of chips every time I go grocery shopping.
If I'd go once a week, it would cost me more than going once a month, see?

Don't go shopping while you're hungry if you want to save money on grocery shopping.

Grocery shopping while hungry is something that we've all done at some point or other, let's admit to it.
When you’re hungry, you’re more likely to make impulse purchases. You may be drawn to unhealthy, processed foods that are high in calories and high in fat.
You will probably also purchase snacks and treats that will leave you feeling guilty after you get home.

Another issue with grocery shopping while hungry is that you tend to buy more food than you actually need. You may be tempted to overbuy because of the hunger-induced cravings, which could lead to wasted food and of course money.

Also, grocery shopping while hungry can be a difficult task. Trying to make decisions about what to buy when you’re hungry can be difficult and time consuming. You may end up spending more time in the store than you intended, which can be frustrating.
So to avoid all of that, always make sure to eat before you go grocery shopping.
