Everything is getting more expensive, but we can still get a rotisserie chicken for $6, and the two of us get 3 meals out of it, which is $1 per meal per person, not counting what else gets served with it of course.

The first meal is when the rotisserie chicken goes in the oven, fresh from the store.
We eat the nicest parts.
After dinner, the leftover chicken gets put in a big bag and in the freezer.

Second meal: For the second meal, I take the chicken out of the freezer and put it in a pot with water. Boil it until the meat falls off the bones, more or less.
Strain it, but by all means, keep the juice.
I then let the chicken cool down and pick all the meat off the bones.
Here I divide the meat into two parts. The first part is my second meal, I make soup with the juice (stock), add half of the leftover chicken meat, and add some vegetables and some noodles.

Third meal: For the third meal, I make chicken salad with the remaining meat, and I serve it with a big salad, containing tomatoes, nuts, cukes, onions and olives.

One chicken, six dollars, three meals.
