This past season and the season before that, I made my own pesto. It's out of this world, so good, but it's also a lot of work.
Most of the work is in harvesting the basil, washing every leaf, and checking it for bugs, etc..
So this year, I found something that is called Lettuce basil.
It looks like lettuce, but they say it tastes like basil, and it's to make pesto with.
Imagine, now I will have much bigger leafs to pick, and it will go much faster.
Once harvesting season comes (still a few months away, sadly), I'll update here and report about how it's going.
Since this is my first year growing lettuce basil, I will also grow regular basil, just in case something goes wrong.
To be continued :)
