Salt is the best preservative in the world

It has many other uses too.  https://www.rd.com/list/clever-uses-for-salt/

I went down the list. Some actually made me frown, like using it on the grass. It kills weeds, I'd think it would kill grass as well.
I do like the idea of extending milk life. In the old days, people used salt to preserve their food.
The clothesline thing is super interesting.  Worth a try.

One thing I didn't see in the list, and it is something I do daily, is to put salt in your bath water to keep your skin from drying out and getting all itchy.

I don't have a normal tub.  I can't use epsom salt in it or it will ruin the finish.
