I'm putting this in the frugal section because I wonder what people do with their pennies. I only leave the house about once a week, and yet I seem to collect a good amount of loose change. Besides that, I also collect a lot of change in summer when I have my vegetable stand up. People who stop in daily often buy just enough for that day so the total isn't all that much and they will use coins to pay.
Does anyone ever roll pennies? It seems like so time consuming.

They have a coin machine at walmart. Put your coins in the machine, it sorts and counts them, and then spews out a voucher which you can cash in at customer service or at the register. Easy and quick, except that they charge 8 cents to the dollar. For each dollar you put in there, you get 92 cents back.
Logically, you wouldn't want to use that for quarters, or even dimes and nickels, but it sure is convenient for pennies so what we do is, sort out the change, roll the quarters, dimes and nickels and bring them to the bank, and then take the pennies to the coin machine.

Pennies can add up too, hehe.

I vaguely remembered this new story and looked it up:

Man pays the DMV with 300,000 pennies.
It took the staff 12 hours to count them all.

That has to be heavy to carry also!

I think the coin machine went from taking 8 cents to 12 cents.

Don't let them steal from you?   Why not just roll it up?  Bring to bank.... make entire amount.
