Cheap hobbies

One of my hobbies is puzzling.
No time in summertime, but during the long months of winter, it's so nice to puzzle a bit every evening.

Sometimes we buy puzzles second hand for less than a dollar a piece, and it gives us hours of puzzle fun.

Even new, puzzles are not all that expensive.
Our local library has puzzles that can be borrowed though we've never done that.

Another cheap hobby is writing. You can use google docs to write on, and it costs  literally nothing if you already have an internet connection.

Fishing! You can bring food home. 
There are many ways to get second hand fishing gear, it doesn't have to cost much at all.
You can get your own worms if you have a garden, because worms aren't all that cheap!

Reading is a cheap hobby too, you can go to the library, or you can also read many things on line.
Books can be bought for just pennies at second hand stores and on yard sales.
You can exchange books with friends, etc...

All in all, reading as a hobby does not have to be expensive.

Snow sculpting :) Check out the sculpture in this forum.
Probably takes hours to make.

Knitting! The wool is not usually cheap to buy but it's cheaper than buying a sweater.

Sewing.  However, with everything going on in my life right now, I don't know when I will be able to sit down at the sewing machine again soon.
