Living in the boonies at least 30 miles from any store, I was excited a year ago when Instacart started to deliver in my area. The problem was that I didn't know anyone who used Instacart, plus some fees and charges were hard to figure out so even after checking things out multiple times I didn't sign up until a year later, which was last week.
Two days after signing up, Instacart offered me $30 off my first order. I was thinking hey why not?

It was all new to me. I ordered from Aldi.
My order arrived the next morning (I could pick the day and the time).  Everything went great. Everything I had ordered was there.
I received a text when my shopper arrived at the store. She then texted me twice about products that were out of stock.
Another text arrived when my shopper checked out, and another text when she was on the way.

Fees: I had a $7 long distance fee, a $7 service fee, a $1.20 bag fee, and tax. Even though I am pretty sure that my order was over 50 pounds (I had water, soda, cat litter and so much more), I was not charged a 'heavy' fee.

A couple days after this experience, I received a $50 off on my next order over $100. The offer was valid for just a few days. Since I buy groceries for a total of 13 people (9 kids, 4 adults), I was happy to put another order in and spend another $100 if it meant $50 off.

My only regret is that I didn't start using Instacart sooner.

I've already signed up for Instacart+ which is $79 the first year with a 2 week free trial, and then $99 the following year. Instacart+ offers unlimited free delivery for orders over $35

Oh I'm glad you bumped this up, it reminded me to cancel my auto-pay.
It's not that I'm not happy with Instacart because I am, but I don't use it enough to justify paying for Instacart+. I figured out how much I paid and how many times I used it and it'll be more economical for me to just pay for delivery on the occasions that I use it.
