It can be debated. Would you buy brand names just for the name, and you know it's good, or would you buy generic.

There is usually a big difference in price.
My general thought is that we should at least try the generic brands and the store brands, compare prices, as well as quality.
In my experience,  generic or store brand is sometimes better than the brand name so keep experimenting and trying.

Let me give you an example of prices.

Rising crust pizza.

Walmart brand: $3.98
Digiorno: $7.99 in most stores.
Tops: It was on special there this past week, 2 for $12

Between 3 stores, there's a big difference in prices.

Shop wisely!

In some cases, I like the generic better. It doesn't hurt to check it out and see how it compares to the name brand.

I don't go to too many different stores so I don't have much to compare. I like the great value products for the most part.

Additionally, some things I feel are the same whether you pay less or not. Like water. Should taste the same if you get a store brand or a known brand. The water is made in the same water bottling plants. They just put different labels on the bottles to fill orders for different places. So, it's the same water, just a different label, and it would be cheaper or more expensive.
