How to save on dish scrubbies.

I use the green/yellow ones, I'm sure you know which ones those are.
So one day, I decided to cut a scrubby in half, I can't remember why now, but I've been doing this ever since.
You really don't need a full scrubby to do your dishes.
After cutting mine in half for so many years, it would probably feel uncomfortable to use a full one.

I also put the scrubbies in the washer when they are getting dirty. After they've been through the washer a couple times, it's usually time to start a new one.

Oh no, I don't throw the old one out. I use it to clean dirtier things with, like cleaning the toilet.
To make sure the dish scrubby and the 'dirty work' scrubby can be distinguished, I cut a corner off the 'dirty work' scrubby.

I like to use microfiber cloths to wash the dishes too. They seem to last forever.

I know where you saw that post.  I used to be on that site too and then it went to Tapatalk.  I take a yellow/green scrubby sponge cut into multiple rectangles to use.  I don't take glass to work because I need multiple containers and sometimes have to walk almost a mile from the parking lot to work.  I am afraid they will break.  So, I use the plastic containers.  Having multiple little sponges, helps save on the cost of sponges in general!

Wow, FF! How did you find this forum?

Ha! I didn't see this on another site, I posted something similar on the other site. I used to watch that site for work (totallyfrugal.com ). We posted together there for years. I never thought I'd post with you again!
A very warm welcome to this homestead. I am getting old, so this will be it for me. No more new forums after this one.
totallyfrugal was not my site, and I wanted one of my own. I started genmay1 or something (I think you posted there too), but it was becoming political so I ended up staying away from it and letting it die.
Politics and religion are two things I avoid talking about on the internet :)

How have you been???

Long story, but doing ok for now.  Hope you are doing well!  Thank You for the warm welcome page4!  Not sure if I can retire by end of year or not.  Everything is so damn expensive.  Glad to see you!

I hear you! I think I will continue working after I retire because I won't make enough to get by on.

Sorry to hear.  I am unsure as to what to do at this point.

It depends on what you feel comfortable with. I actually think I would lose my sense of accomplishment if I were to fully retire and the winters would seem longer than they already are.

I wish I was married now.  It is so difficult when you are single and alone.  It's a lonely life.

Careful what you wish for, really! Trust me. Ask your female friends or coworkers who are married.
I know my female friends all complain about their husbands.
